INTRODUCTION

As mandated by the Republic Act 9003 also known as Ecological Solid Waste Management Act of 2000, the Waste Control Division specifically SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT SECTION, SANITARY LANDFILL MANAGEMENT SECTION, COMPOSTING and ECOPARK MANAGEMENT SECTION under the City Local Environment and Natural Resources Office was formed to provide Ecological Solid Waste Management and to widen the coverage of the Division it adopted the Republic Act 6969 (Toxic Substances and Hazardous and Nuclear Wastes Control Act of 1990) and formed another section, the HAZARDOUS WASTE MANAGEMENT SECTION.
