NATURAL RESOURCES AND CONSERVATION DIVISION
INTRODUCTION
NRCD aims to protect, conserve, and preserve the natural resources of Cagayan de Oro City for sustainable development.
Natural Resources and Conservation Division consists of four (4) Sections namely Mineral Resources Management (MRMS), Forest Resources Management (FRMS), Coastal Resources Management (CRMS) and Environmental Conservation Section (ECS):

Division Services
- Mineral Resources Management Section
- Promote responsible utilization of mineral resources, particularly extraction of sand and gravel and filling materials.
- Issuance of Commercial Sand and Gravel (CSAG), Industrial Sand and Gravel (ISAG), and Mountain Quarry (MQ) Permit.
- Forest Resources Management Section
- Establish, maintain, protect and preserve communal forests, watersheds, tree parks, greenbelts and similar forest projects like agro-forestry projects;
- Manage and maintain seed banks and produce seedlings for forests and tree parks;
- Provide extension services to People’s Organization of forest development projects and render assistance for natural resources-related conservation and utilization activities consistent with ecological balance

- Establish, maintain, protect and conserve mangroves areas and other coastal resources.
- Manage and maintain mangrove nursery seedling production
- Environmental Conservation Section
- Conserve, protect and restore watershed and sub-watershed areas
- Promotion for protection and preservation of the natural resources and environment to mitigate the impacts of climate change
- Facilitate application and review of proposals for forest and landscape restoration and conservation projects for approval of the Ecological Services and Protection Committee (ESPC);
- Assist the project proponents in the implementation of the approved projects;
- Monitor and evaluate approved projects.
